Just read the news that Doug Hannon, aka as "The Bass Professor" passed away this week.

Cause of death was stated as complications after neck surgery.

Always liked Dougs' ability to combine on the water practical techniques with lab/workshop theories.

His involvement with the 'Wavespin' reels, and the fast reduction/micro guide system are two of his recent contributions to the fishing world.

Thanks for everything Doug.

that really sucks....I remember reading or watching everything of his I could get my hands on. When the bass fishing craze first took off, he was about catching big bass, not just numbers. It says something about a man, what he does with his life and Doug was a fisherman. He loved everything about fishing and tried to share what he knew. I hate it when the guys I looked up to and envied, like Doug and the Spanish fly, leave this world too soon. Hope he is on the water somewhere else now.
