Hey guys,Im new to this site and don't know much about rod building and was wondering how important it is to have the guides on a conventional bottom fishing rig in the right place. You see I have a couple of old 11' spinning rods i want to strip and re-guide it with conventional guides.I know I should place guides on opposite side of blank but is it that important?I only get to the surf maybe 10-15 days a year and I only sling like 3-8oz. cut bait and never plan on catching anything over 45 lbs.In other words I'm trying to get out of cutting my reel seat off.Any and all input is greatly appreciated.
