Teasers for bait fishing

Rate this topic

I've heard for shore fishing, that having a teaser (6" sluggo for instance) while fishing cut bait can work very well, with the smell of the bait pulling the bass in and then they hit the teaser.

Any input though on how to rig this?  I typically use a fishfinder rig for cut bait and am having difficulty coming up with an effective way of rigging the teaser so that it is up in the water collumn.

I think if you are going to try this you may have to forgo the fishfinder. Try using a three way snap swivel with a long leader 48" and use a floater to keep the bait off the floor. With that you can easily use a put a drop loop on the leader. Its a good idea I think I may try it myself.

I would think a teaser works better while being reeled in. If it's just floating around out there, they will probably just hit the bait since that's what brought them there.
