Launch sites in Westchester/Fairfield Counties

3 posts in this topic

Hello,

I finally bought a boat this weekend and am eager to get out and fish. With all of the private land in this area, I am unsure as to where to launch. Can anyone please provide some good sites in that area?

Cheers,

Adam

Rocktrout,

Good luck with the boat.

There's a town ramp in Norwalk right across from Fishermans World Bait and Tackle down by the Norwalk Aquarium.

Westport also has a ramp under the I95 Bridge...I think you can access it off of the post road. Turn down Campo Road and when it passes under 95 I think there's a ramp.

For a full list of Connecticut coastal access...send away for your free booklet here:

Adam,

Most of FFd Cty town beaches and parks wide open this time of year, act invisible and they'll look the other way. Don't bother in Greenwich, they still guarding. Assuming you are novice, be sure you're ready and go with a partner. Sound is usually pleasant but it can turn in a heart beat this time of year. Water was barely holding 60 deg this weekend, will be 50's next weekend I'm sure. Wind 10-15 gusting to 20-25 is normal.

Compo Beach in Westport is a real nice spot.
