Reel Problems- Penn Battle side plate screw stuck

Rate this topic

2 posts in this topic

I've had my penn batttle for 80% of last season and tried to crack it open for the first time a few weeks ago. Its still in great shape but needs some grease.

All but one of the side plate screws would not budge. I soaked it the best I could in WD-40 for a couple nights but still no go. In my frustration I ended up completely balding the screw. What should be my next plan of action?

Thanks in advance

Bring it to Sportsman Outfitter in Berkley Mass he's and authorized Penn repair center and he knows his Penns in and out. Im sure he can probably drill it and clean it up put a new screw in. Mine was the opposite very loose and you are right, nothing wrong although a little water got into it but not causing any major issues. Some Quantum Hot sauce and she's ready for more this year. Going on 3rd season 7000 model and for the money it performs better then the Saltist i know that, and cost 60% less too.
