I've done a few concrete patio acid stain jobs. The pictures aren't very good, but with the acid stain if you do it right, you can get some cool contrast marble, and stone like patterns. It's fairly easy to do. Ive had the best luck using a hudson sprayer as you don't seem to get any weird lines like when you apply the stain with those stain mop pads. All you need is the acid stain, baking soda to neutralize the acid after staining, and the clear coat sealer. Just remember you have to cover anything that you don't want stained by taping off with plastic and or vinyl tape. It's a lot less work than tiling.
