Grow wings and big claws!

The wind is blowing and the water temps are still in the mid forties. But hey, that did not stop this Osprey that is nesting in my back yard from finding dinner.

I have seen them eating many different kinds of fish around here but this is thirst time I got a picture of one eating a "Convict Fish"

Guess you could say he was convicted and sentenced to death. Ha!

Thanks for the replies. This was the first time I saw one of them eating a sheepshead. The fish was still kicking and flexing it's spines. I was impressed at how good of a grip he had on it.

I helped package/ transport an injured one down to a rehab center once.  Instructions? Get a big box and poke holes in it, then seal box.  Good thing that it was scared to death of us. Every part of that bird looked dangerous!  Once it got in the dark box it settled down.  One wouldn't imagine that a cardboard box would do in that situation, but it did.
