Norwalks and weather

3 posts in this topic

Made an attempt to see what was happening in the Norwalk Islands today but chickened out. When I got to the launch ramp it was a little after high but the water was probably 4 feet over normal high, blown in by the wind. I went as far as the cannon jetty at Compo but the swells were 3-4 ft and there were 4-5 ftrs dumping over and around the jetty. Never even set up the rod, only been out in a kayak 3-4 times, no interest in taking my hands off the paddle. Hit several beach haunts on the way home up thru Fairfield, nothing happening. Had a lot of fun paddling, though. Some people I met said you could make a beach landing on several lawns up the Saugituck River in Westport.
