kayak question

2 posts in this topic

Well I hit Sandy Hook last week with the family and of course brought my 9 wgt fly rod. 4-5 pound blues were working and I could not reach them with my 60 foot casts. Then I see this fella in a yak just putting himself in the middle of the fish and it changed my miond about this kayak stuff. I am definitely interested now. I was wondering, how do you secure your expensive outfit so that it doesn't drop in the drink. Does anyone have experience with the pedal kayaks from Hobie?

Grousechaser; I fish from a kayak (for the past year), just for that reason. Everything in the 'yak that you don't want to lose, you tie in with a extendable leash. Paddle, rods/reels, pliers, etc. Everything I have in my milk crate in the back gets bungee corded in. It's definitely expanded my possibilities for catching fish. There's a great website, but I don't know if I can mention it, for all the information you would need. There's too much for me to put in a post. Good luck!

Artie
