Chasing Albies

4 posts in this topic

Got reports that they were thick along the northern Jersey shore yesterday but having just returned from a trip I had to much to do to go. Went today and it was typical "should have been here yesterday". We did manage to find some and Surfacetension got his first one ever. It was cool that it was from a yak. It succumbed to a trolled Deadly Dick. I had lots of shots at them and tried a lot of lures. Nada. Next time I'll try trolling some flies.

Today we ended up getting albies, bass and blues. Of course both Joey and I forgot cameras and Joey got his largest albie ever. It towed him way out but I didn't go since I couldn't take a pic. Bass to low 30"s and blues near double digits. They were on peanuts in the Storm Wildeye 3-2" range. Gorgeous day.

Went with my brother today. Boy did the weathermen blow this forcast. Not a nice day to be on the water in a yak. I mangaged a slot bass but called it quits early.
