Yak draggin'.

6 posts in this topic

I was just wondering.....how bad is it for the hull to drag your yak over sand occassionaly?

I have a Cobra Navigator, and i DO intend to get a dolly, but for the few times I have to carry across a beach, I was/am curious as to the extent of wear this can cause.

Thanks!

I would think that fore to aft linear gouges pose little to know problem and in fact may help tracking with a washy kayak. I'd try to avoid the side to side gouges if at all possible. S

That's good to know.

Sounds like some of you guys are pretty rough on your boats!

Glad they hold up so well.

Never thought of the tracking concept Scotto mentioned.

Heck!

I could've saved all that money on the Yakima rack and just dragged the damn thing behind the car!!!

Live & learn!
