Monday 10/11 Fishing - Where should we go?

11 posts in this topic

The title pretty much says it. Anyone have any ideas. Glen will have some bass but it would be nice to find a concentration of activity. So let's all put our $.02 in.

JonS,

I'm all set to go somewhere tomorrow.

FLYRODDER stated there was a lot of bait in Hemp. Harbor.

I was gonna hit either Manorhaven, H.Harbor or even Glen Is.

What is it about Glen Is. that you like so much as opposed to a place on the south side of the sound, like Prybil Bch?

High tide is at 8am.

I'm busy till approx. 7:30am.

I'll go anywhere!

In the rod holder of my seat I found a nylon strap nylon strap with a clip for seperating the halves.

What is this for?

I thought it might be a rod lanyard.

Since there is a loop at both ends, is one end for a clip or what?

At the moment , I'm using it to attach my spinning box to the pulley line under the "O" hatch.

Where to tomarrow???????biggrin.gif

JonS, I forgot to ask you, how much do you pay for brass snaps?

Home Depot is out and they want $3 in hardware stores.

I know they are not THAT expensive.

If they're under $2, would you bring me a few, maybe 4 or 5?

Thanks...........DASBOOT

DAS did you try the Home Depot in Westbury off the LIE. I bought 6 brass snaps from there last week. Sometimes you have to search through all of the boxes cause they get mixed up. Can't beat the price at Home Depot. Otherwise go to Boater's World and you'll pay 5 times the price.

Hi Guys, I didn't have access to the computer yesrterday later in the day.

DAS - I pay retail like you for brass snaps. Look around they do vary.

Those items with the loops on each end are rod tethers, or whatever one wishes to call them.

Its so cold early in the AM right now so I like a later start. I won't be coming over the bridges unless things break loose. To much effort for a few fish. Ever since the WTC the GW has been tuff.

My brother and I are going to get a late start and hit Jersey, somewhere. We may run the beach to see if there's activity and could end up fishing the inside of the Hook. We'll have warm stuff along and be prepared to be out in the dark.

Winds are still NW and should be switching to W. Inside of the Hook is out for the yak but the ocean in close should be calm. We'll see.

jONs,

OK!

So it is a rod tether.

With loops at both ends, I interpret that as one loop around the rod and a snap on the other loop to be fastened to the yak.

Seeing as how I often miss the obvious, is that how the tether is rigged?
