Interesting bass colors

It might be a skin diease. That is odd though, was the texture different then the rest of the fishes skin?

Here one I got a few years ago with a "heart" and a black anal fin. Somewhere on SOL there is a thread with picture of a yellow large-mouth.

They've been catching smallmouth all over he Susquehanna River with these same black spots over the last 5 years. None beore that. I dont know the details but they are concerned about it.

I may have a few pics of different bass I caught this past year with the same black dots. Nothing unhealthy about them, just something that pops up in different areas. More or less areas with healthy fish exhibit it.

Heres the only one I could find from this past year down on the Chesapeake. Had black spots all over it

This is nothing new. I've seen bass caught like that for a long time now, seems like more fish in South Jersey. I think I remember hearing that it had to do with a higher protein diet, could be wrong though. I am pretty sure it isn't unhealthy or anything that will harm the bass.

I have come across a good amount of these fish here in South Jersey. Most are caught during the colder months. According to the internet, it's some type of camoflauge.
