Shad Fishing On tha River Gots any tips and tactics?

So a couple of Jackholes are trying to rangle me in on some shad fishing on The American.

Never fished for bait before and have no clue.

I have an 8wt fly rod and two ultra light spinning rigs but they are short rods. What do most folks use?

Also, what do most throw? Darts? what size?

I think this is about as rookie as can be asking like this but, oh well. :bucktooth:

What size lead is that?

BTW, were is the beer cooler?

1/16-1/8 oz and here is a cooler or two.

Being a family web site and all I can't put up the pics of the drunken scantily clad coeds up ;)

Tom, don't waist your time gearing up we all have plenty of gear, and leave your waders at home, the Steelhead opener was months ago don't want to look like a river googan.:D

Bring some bait fishing gear, we always like putting a hook through the beak of the last Shad and try for a Striper
