Guide Brand Question

This will be my first shot at rebuilding a Penn Jig master 6 1/2 ft.15-30 Lb. line pole. I will be using braided line and it has 8 guides including tip top. What brand and what type insert should i look to use ? Being it's my first time I'm not looking to spend money on the most expensive guides. Any advice will be great .

Thanks,

Mike

There are many different brands of guides to choose from. The modern ceramics today stand up well to braided line. You want a braced guide in the following sizes: 1 #20, 1#16, 2 #12, 2 #10, 2 #8 and a tip top. I would recommend that you get guides that have the recessed frame for added protection to the ceramic ring. Check out the many Internet rod building component suppliers.
