RhodyFisher
I am using rattle cans to paint plugs, and was wondering if there is any issue of compatibility if I were to spray Rustoleum over Krylon. I am using the basic Gloss finish paints. Are they chemically compatible, or will they react/bubble on me?
rockfish9
in a case like this.. it's pretty easy to spray a scrap of wood with primer and paint... you'll have an acurate answer real quick..
bristolstripers
I have never had a problem with mixing krylon, rustoleum, cheapo walmart. Except for the Florescent Green, Yellow, Orange, They don't like to mix with anything, even their own kind. I also prefer matte paint, it seems to hold and spray finer, since I clear coat anyway after. hpettus
Hey Rody, I mix both all the time and the only issue that I have ran into is when I try to rush the dry time between the two paints, Give your first coat time to fully dry.
RhodyFisher
Bristol, Â Actually, it's the fluorescent paint that I was hoping to use. I'm looking to paint some plugs in a parrot color scheme, starting with a yellow base, and then painting the top with Rustoleum's fluorescent green. Anyone have a recommendation for a light green to use in a parrot scheme?
bristolstripers
you can do it but you have to let the base color dry for a couple days. Do what Rockfish said and test it on a primed piece of scrap. "Of all my wife's relations, I like myself the best" ...Grandpa
