The Romney Win In MI

Rate this topic

Romney won MI by 32,000 votes. He won Oakland County (that's the county where the rich folks live) by 32,000 votes, so the rest of MI was a wash.

The bad news for both candidates was that Romney and Santorum together collected 787,420 votes, Statewide. In 2008, McCain got over 20 2 million votes in Michigan, and lost the State by 16%.

Here's a 'did you know' for you - if you take off the sleazy Dem votes, which were cast in Santorum's favor because the Dems are scared of Romney, then Romney wins by 10-12 points....LOL - You Dems cheated and still couldn't pull it off:-D

Albacized thats because they tried to cheat legitametly. Had they known it wouldnt have worked they would have "resurrected" a few thousand dead peOple to vote. And probably a few cartoon characters. You know--- whatever it takes.

you are comparing the amount of primary votes to the amount of general election votes.

800K won't carry the state in November. Anyway, Romney can forget about MI and most if not all of the upper midwest because of his position on bailing out Detroit.

There were approximately 601,219 total votes in the Democrat Primary in 2008.

None, or very few people that voted for mccain in 2008 will turn to vote for Obama. His polarization numbers prove that pretty soundly. Having said that, I'm not too worried about Michigan. The problem for any R candidate is that they are spotting obama 86 electoral college votes between cali and NY. Throw inthe NE corner of the country, and barry is half way home for winning a handful of states. The R candidate should pick up florida, PA and Ohio, and maybe even NJ. It's going to be an uphill battle for the R candidate.

To keep with the logic of this thread, I will compare the votes cast for President Obama in this year's Michigan primary to how many votes he won in Michigan in the general election of 2008 and that will be an indicator of how he will do this November.
