Is this new in your area? We've done maintenance contracts like that for the utilities since I started here over a decade ago, and I worked on crews back in the '80's doing the same.

Ever see something line this:

It's a saw they suspend from a helicopter for tree trimming along powerlines.

Is that a DJ booth? How does the DJ spin so many records at one time?

If being stupid got us into this mess, how come being stupid can't get us out?
I don't want to behave improperly, so I just won't behave at all.

I've never seen it done in 12 years here. Maybe when that freak October storm broke all those branches and caused outages they figure they should remove all the

rest of the hanging limbs and older ones hanging over the lines.

It's a good thing either way.

Yep, it's a good thing.

On Saturday last weekend, I saw hundreds (OK, maybe only about 50 or 60) of tree trucks heading back south down I-95 and I-91, they had been pre-positioned in anticipation of very strong winds. It will be a few years before power companies become complacent again with regard to distribution line clearing. They're really good about transmission line clearing, though.

Amherst Syndrome creeping north? UGH. Then again, Brat-l-boro ain't that far north, either. I've never known your town to be commieville, but I guess it's spread like kudzu, huh?
