Never really had an interest in Pikes until this spring when I gave a GRS a try...and realized Id been missing out. I knew Id have to make my own and by the end of the Fall I dialed in on what I wanted out of my pike. After landing a few quality fish I knew I had a keeper to play around with this winter. Here's one I just finished up. Made out of basswood, 3.5oz and 8.5" long.

Very nice work. Sweet color. How does the swimming action differ from the GRS? Wiggle? Depth? Again, nice job!

Thanks! Very much a surface swimmer, chin down with a heavy tail wag would best describe the action.

very nice looking pikie...when i build them i like the frount hook under the eye for the headhunters:D nice

Thanks. On some of the ones I tested I had the front hook a little more forward but it kept getting fowled up with my leader and lip (I'm using 4/0's) so I moved it back a bit. But you make a good point.
