Hey SOL,

I'm gonna be picking up a 12ft St.Croix MOJO (heavy power- mod fast action- 20 60lb test- 6 16 oz)

Looking for a NEWELL to pair with this. Gonna mainly use it for chunking, all advice is welcome thanks.....

Thanks gray gables....

there are some shops around that still have them in stock, but you have to do some searching, I was looking for a p220 NIB but to no avail, I gave up, good luck in your search, google is your friend, :)

I looked at a couple P series reels in Red Tops display case last Friday afternoon. I have to admit I was tempted to buy them for myself and put them on the shelf. Out of the 235, 229 and 220 series reels the 229 is by far my favorite for sure. Big Dave

For chunking you might want to look at a 300-series Newell, assuming you're fishing mono as many chunkers do. One of our older regulars fishes 50 lb. on a 344, as I recall.

The 229 has the best ergonomics of any conventional I've used. Only the Penn 525 mag compares.
