You're right.  This would definitely affect the bunker availability.  My thinking was more about the stripers but yeah bunker would be included too.

Who knows, maybe from Virginia?

sure , and can you imagine the price ??

and what is going to be used in crab pots ?

the majority of bunker kool ice has that is what it is used for .

the point i'm trying to make is "be careful what you ask for!"

Yeah, I guess on the surface the bill does sound good, especially for Striped Bass but you are correct in the broad underlying ramifications to the crabbing/bait industry if something like this were to pass.

I'm sure there will be considerable challenges and issues with this bill moving forward.

Thanks

Pretty much shuts down netting of any kind in the Chesapeake.

And how many commercial bait guys are going to go out to the Atlantic to catch bait? Guess the small bait guys who use cast nets aren't gonna care.

Somebody will complain about how many lost jobs and lost revenue its going to cause and its going to kill the industry and that will be the end of it. Then the politicians will bitch and moan becuase we bitch about stopping commercial fishing and they handed it to us on a silver platter.

Its really a no win like always.

If they wanna do **** like IMO it needs to be thought out a lot better then that and not half ass like always.
