In a conversation with Catherine Sparks with RI DEM this past week they have decided to lift the felt sole ban in Rhode Island. The rule ban felt soles in freshwater only Rhode Island water in effort to combat invasive species. This has brought some relief to many anglers who fish the salt only. Smart decision making... eventually, scary how little thought was given to the ban in the first place. Anyone with a basic knowledge of the topic realized a marine ban was pointless, and that it would effect many fishermen/people who don't want to break bones. Cannot help but think the bulletin in OTW opened a few eyes.

Im going to assume that RISAA had a large impact on getting this revoked, my hat goes off to any organization that finally got DEM to wake-up.

The e-mail I posted in your thread came from the RISAA President. :)
