Renzetti Lathe Question

Rate this topic

4 posts in this topic

I've been looking for a Renzetti lathe for a while without any luck so now I'm considering buying a new one. It can be purchased with or without a motor. Is there any reason for buying a motor other than the one supplied by Renzetti? If so what motor would you suggest?

Thanks,

Don

It depends what you want to do with your lathe. For just wrapping the standard Dayton variable speed motor that I believe is rated for 1/15 HP is fine. If you intend to turn your own grips than you will need something a little larger. Go to Grainger.com, they have a good selection of motors.
