Magpie
Good morning, I have a reverse Atoms plug my father used to use. What is exactly is the action or how is it fished? stripersurfster
Fish it like you would a topwater spook. They really come in handy when the wind is in your face, and you need to cast for distance. The rear chamber has holes which fills it with water, so they will cast a good distance. Not a plug that I use very often, but they will produce under those conditions. "well, outside of moderators wishing death upon us, everything is good." bob_G
Back in the 60s and early 70s when squid would invade the canal each June and July, my Dad and I would fish Reverse Atoms often. When squid are being chased, they come to the surface, and made a distinctine "v" wake as the come through the water. We used to fish the plug the same way. Cast it across current, and keep enough tension on the plug to produce a large "v" wake as it moves along the surface. The key was to fish the plug right up until is was nearly on shore. Most times, you'd see the large wake of a bass following the plug before erupting on it. Sometimes, not 15' off the rocks.
