I'm fishing the river and mostly grass mats. However i do throw around some lilly pads and some blowdown trees.I use mostly SPRO frogs but bring some zoom frogs with me also.

I have a "carolina rig" rated rod that I use for this type of fishing. 7 foot with a soft tip but some backbone through the rest of the rod. Its a BPS Rick Clunn model from years ago. Have been using 65# braid for the slop. Ever try a Heddon Moss Boss on the matted grass? Great blow ups. More of a cast and retrieve lure for working the mats fast and have a come back lure rigged. Like a soft plastic worm or fluke.
