It all depends on retrieve rate and water current. In fast water a zigzag will probly drop down a little over a foot, much less if your in calm water with a slow retrieve. The bottleneck swimmer will dive much deeper especially in fast water like its designed for, probly a couple of feet. In rippin current a zigzag will just roll out and come to the surface where as a bottle swimmer will dig in and dive. peace

the necks can dive deep if you work em fast, it barely takes much to make em shake,  but the darters are tricky, when they wave is about to crash over it dig it in real quick with fast jerks and most of the time you can get it under the wave

The darter will give more of a side to side motion, the bottle more of a wiggle.

Darters work great without current, try one in a still pond and you will see.

Do it in the daytime and you can see exactly how deep they go too. ;)

If ya throw fast water in the equation then it will cause lift...........Right?

Out of about 20 SS darters I have had, only one would belly up, and that one never did swim right. The faster the water is moving,. the deeper it will go after the sweep.
