The wife and I went to the show yesterday. Not a real big show but there were some good seminars and Lefty was there. My wife got a little casting lesson from lefty and he signed a book for her so she was happy. Not sure it was worth the 2 hour haul to get there, but it was a nice day for a drive in the country.

I didn't even know we had a Fly Fishing show here

And its in at the convention center. Didn't even see it advertised last week when I was there for the builders show.

$15 to get in sounds a little steep though. Might have to take a ride in this afternoon and check it out.

This is the same "company" that does many shows nationwide.  They have been running the behemoth Somerset NJ show for 20 yeas now.  In the past two yeas they added Valley Forge and now Lancaster I'm guessing to see if a one year test could grow roots and have a following.  Shows like Lancaster should draw a lot of local talent.  Lefty is a prime example of a local to that area as is Bob Clouser.  On a less famous level though are many guides and tiers from around the area.  Being able to pick their brains is worth the price of admission alone.   I once heard it said that a successful guided trip is one where you learn one new thing from the guide.  A guides rate is drastically higher than $15.  So, if you can learn a new knot, drifting technique, cast, or anything you will be way ahead of the game.

I've been doing these shows for some time now.  I get books signed.  I bought a few prints from David Whitlock this year ( cool f-ing dude by the way!) that he personalized for me.  If you're into fly fishing these shows are a fantastic resource.
