You really just need a bag of wood chips if you're using a charcoal, gas or electric smoker. You can get the chips just about anyuplace that sells grills including Sears, HD and Lowes. You can find them occassionally in supermarkets.

 

Go to HD's website and search for "wood chips" there's probably 30 options :shock:

if you are stick burning, there is a guy on Jericho Turnpike in Huntington Station right by Oheka Castle (you can't miss him)

 

 

They know bbq

 

 

 

you'll have to special order it, he comes across oak and a few other hardwoods from time to time

 

 

 

He suggested I go to some of the orchards for fruit wood chucks. There is one, also on Jericho a few miles further east.

 

 

 

I use charcoal with chunks and Home Depot keeps me stocked with all I need. The large hickory bag last months and the small fruit (apple and cherry) last 3 - 4 cooks.
