The Way Romney Sees The USA

An Apple executive recently said this about jobs in America, “We don’t have an obligation to solve America’s problems. Our only obligation is making the best product possible.”

Now he might have added , "and showing a big enough profits to continually increase our share price.”

That response came after it was revealed that Apple is America's largest corporation and employes 43K here and 700K in Asia.

This is Romney's/the Republican view of how American business should operate.

If companies can make it best and cheapest in China, or anywhere else, that’s where it will be made. Don’t blame them.

What they and Romney want in America is lower corporate taxes, less regulation, and fewer unionized workers.

None of those actions will bring good jobs to America. Those steps will lower the costs of production here, but companies can always find even lower production costs abroad with favorable envionmental/labor/currency conditions.

In the end, the federal government always acts (or not-acts) in someone's behalf, and in the case of good jobs, they won't be coming back to America unless the federal government pushes/incentivises/ American based multinationals to invest at home instead of China/Vietnam/etc.

"Germany remains a highly successful exporter even with workers who cost, on average, $44 an hour — much more than the average cost of American workers. And this success has a lot to do with the support its small and medium-sized companies — the famed Mittelstand — provide to each other via shared suppliers and the maintenance of a skilled work force. "

And if you go to the app store and search New York Times, you will be quite surprised to see how much Apple software NYT depends on in their PISS POOR attempts to sell their newspaper.
