A shot in the dark - If you're going that way I'm wondering if you'd drop off some clams for my dad.  A friend just dug them and I can't get over to Nashua while they'd still be fresh the next 2 days - my dad loves steamers and I know he'd be thrilled to get these.  Thanks.

Well, I had to eat them myself.  Steamed half of them - sweet and clean and so good with touch of butter.  Did the rest up in garlic/red pepper flakes/olive oil/clam broth sauce with pasta, yow, mighty tasty.  Don't tell my dad, OK?

Those babies should be good for up to a week, we don't touch our fresh dug Newbury clams for at least 2 days......they get sweeter with a bit of aging. As long as they pop open when you steam them you're good to go.....poor excuse for eating your fathers share.:D

Oh, my buddy had soaked them for 2 days in salt water at his house to clean them out.  But how long do you keep them in the fridge once they come out of the cleaning water?  A week, in the fridge, is that what you mean?
