TimS
Print this out and keep it in your wallet When someone gets something for nothing, it has no value...but you can bet the folks that money was taken from in taxes valued that money when they earned it. Someone needs to fix the entitlement programs - and not by pissing more billions away in them. TimS Show someone how to catch striped bass and they'll be ready to fish anywhere. Show someone where to go striped bass fishing and you'll have a desperate report chaser with loose lips.

Roadrunner
I'm very skeptical as to that receipts veracity. When is the last time you saw a welfare queen buy anything diet? Please, don't get me started on food 'stamps', and the new version, 'dignity' EBT cards. My blood pressure is high enough already. Cantilever
Seriously though... I'm for a food stamp program. Why the program hasnt become something anyone can agree on is beyond me... Everyone has had a chance to do something to it, yet w got what we got..

Everyone has had a chance to do something to it, yet w got what we got.. Why would anyone want the governemnt to manage wealth when they can't even manage poverty? Food stamps is noting more than a second tier currency. It costs more money to maintain the program than it would to mail a check to all the hoiuseholds that qualify for relief. Everyone has had a chance to do something to it, yet w got what we got.. The program remains vile & corrupt in its quest to be 'egalitarian' for a group of people whose only goal is to game the system to the max. Good, decent, deserving food 'stamp' folks get rolled into the dirt with the nefariously lazy. The simple solution is to limit food stamps to basic, healthy food items, and eliminate it for unhealthy and 'luxury' food items. But that would be 'unequal' and/or 'racist', wouldn't it? ... TimS
I'm for a program for people that need it - if you are buying lobster and porterhouse steak, you don't need food stamp money. Its needed to buy votes from the people that buy the lobsters.. Simple proof--if the Democrats suspended the food stamp program today, their party would cease to exist. SallyGrowler
You can't create a second tier currency and not expect it to be utilized for specific products. It's now issued in the form debit card linked to Our Accounts. Food Stamps are another abomination of the FDR legacy... the hits keep on coming... Get government out of the Charity Business. "If we do away with food stamps the children will starve". No they won't.

Eagles Dare
Don't need your receipt Tim. I see it every day. Why they can't make it similar to the WIC program, where only basic healthy items qualify is beyond me. I'll have mine on the rocks.
