After listening to Captain Rays presentation about Cinder Worms at our November meeting I decided to eliminate some weight in my patterns so my fly will stay closer to the surface where Ray thought they would be more productive. The following video shows how I did this. I now use this same technique when tying my bunny flys.

I'm thrilled seeing the two mono extentions videos with different material applications.

Never thought cinder worms would be a popular tie since the event is so locale and unpredictable.

Nice narration. Instructions are spot on, easy to understand and tie the fly.

Like the idea of glue, making it more durable. Nice solutions for anti-fouling.

Thanks for sharing your creativity with us.

It takes plenty of extra time to develop a lesson plan and photograph.

Let us know which models work best.

See you at the Expo. Bring some samples.

Nothing flies by me without a hook!
If my fly is down, That's a good thing.

Public Access.....It's a shore thing. My daily requirement of "Vitamin Sea".

 • 4 weeks later...

I really enjoyed the video as I have tied many different styles of cinder worms.

The extended mono tail was a new one for me.

The top fly was tied as close to the video instruction as my materials would allow.

Then I wondered if I could spin deer hair on a mono extension.

The lower fly is the result.

Thanks for the demonstration.

Super vid, Stein!!! Great concept. Will you be at BD Expo next Sat?

Thank you for sharing. Jerry

Jerry thanks for the compliment. I went to the Bears Den Expo last year and enjoyed it. It was a little too crowded to get around 1st thing in the morning so if we go this year it will be a little later in the day to avoid that crush.
