Been targeting cod from the beach

Yes I 've been landing the occasional cod. That's as much as I'll say.

 

Well that and it's bait that is key as well as structure/current and not the bait used on PBs.

Big bait rigged a certain way.

I see by the responses not much interest so I'll leave it at that.

 

Now I've got to turn my back.

I remember as a kid a pollack run in the early spring under "da light" and few cod taken from Orient in the early spring late winter. I'd love some fresh codfish for my fish tacos.:p

I was on a Codfish boat today. Out of Jones inlet, the boats name is Restless(new boat, around for a year and a half) the captain was a mate on local party and charter boats for 30+years and is on his own now. We fished local waters out of Jones, furthest we went was around 5 miles out, we had tough anchoring condtions in the am but it picked up around 2pm and we ended up with 13 cod to 13 pounds and we left them biting. So the beach thing is very possible if you cn stand the cold....
