IMHO, only Ella Fitzgerald has a more beautiful voice

Alison's voice is certainly beautiful, and she's a consummate professional, performer, writer and songstress.

There are a few others I would nominate.

I posted a video of Eva Cassidy a week or so back. Sadly we lost her some time ago. Her music has enjoyed a resurgence, especially in Europe.

What a voice...

Emmylou certainly ranks...same genre; the Trio album with Dolly Parton and Linda Ronstadt has some unbelievable performances and harmonies.

Very "interesting" and in the same vein are Gillian Welsh and Iris Dement.
