Places we remember as children, but are no longer there.

Another thread inspired me to start this thread. We all have places that we went to as youngsters, places that had some meaning to us at that point in time.

I remember a place my dad always took us to, as children in Sheepshead Bay. The place was Ross'. It was like a Nathan;s, but had a bar inside where the grownups would sit and have a few beers. My dad did this with his friends when they ended a days fishing. I don't remember when it closed, but I know I miss not so much the place, but the time spent with dad in the years that have gone by. smile.gif

Palisades amusement park. Especially the rocket ship!:)

I can't believe it's been closed 40 years!

Was the first thing that came to mind....:th:

Goodies Hamburgers on Route 46 in Totowa.....and Great Eastern in the same area, especially their small amusement center/arcade with the "hockey puck bowling".
