I have a feeling I know exactly where your fishing if your from my area. In that particular area it's virtually imposiible to nymph because of all the wood in the water. I haven't fished it in many years but I've done well with standard wooley buggers in natural colors (black, olive, light olive) flipping in around the sweeps, brush piles and undercuts. Zonkers and Matuka's are also a good bet. I fished upsteam from there a couple months ago and there were countless 2 to 4" browns lol.
