Cooold weather and Egg firing?

Is it safe to use in freezing temps? I would think you could. Just warm it slower than usual?

the Egg is safe to use in freezing temps and their web site boasts of people doing serious BBQ in the dead of winter when propane grills are dormant. As for warming it slowly, probably not a bad idea especially if you have the old-style firebox that is one-piece; they would crack due to expansion and contraction from heating and cooling cycles. Big Green Egg developed a new firebox that has a slit cut into it.

When you go out to start up in the cold pull gently to open the egg, the gaskets will freeze together sometimes.  If it does three minutes with the blow dryer will do the trick.  Otherwise you pull and rip the gaskets apart.
