AFC Division changes

Rate this topic

Miami goes to the AFC South

Indy goes to the AFC North

Baltimore goes to the AFC East

This way, the Ravens can put pressure on the Pats every year (rather than see the Pats take the division every year).

Indy and Miami play teams that they are actually geographically related to, and save money on jet fuel.

Who's with me?

It would diminish the Ravens/ Steelers rivalry which is not good for the sport. Lots of people who arent fans tune in to watch those 2 beat the hell out of each other twice a year.

NE is two neck surgeries away from a 2 - 14 season; this is not the Pats team of old. Once Brady's run is finished the AFCE will revert back to its old ways. No need to mess with divisional rivals.

two neck surgeries? *** are you talking about? you must be confusing Brady with Manning. Yes, NE will take a hit when Brady retires or moves on; but they did okay with Cassell when he was out for the year with the knee. the HC of NE coached that team to an 11-5 record. Not too bad for a backup QB.

You're in the olden days. Without Brady, this team is not much. How they gonna score enough points to prop up the non-existent defense with a young/unproven/inexperienced QB and a lackluster run game? No Brady = losing season for Pats with the current team. And BB is smart enough to bail when Brady is finished. The clock ticks..Tic-Toc Tic-Toc

"Olden Days"? Yes, their defense sucks, but if I'm not mistaken they're at the top of the AFC again, and at least they're in the tournament. I'll take my chances with a 34 yr old Brady for a few more years, and look for the defense to improve to at least keep the team as a contender during that period. Of course it's only a matter of time before the team is closer to the bottom than the top, as is all teams eventually; so don't think us life-long fans don't know it. I used to walk up to the box office and buy a ticket on game day, when the team sucked so bad they made you drink to forget the score by the time it was over. But at least I could get a ticket then ;)

Anything is possible while Brady is still there, but by the time the league got around to making any changes to the divisions, he'd be gone. Enjoy in while it lasts. As for the Jets, well they're the Jets.:o

I'd hate to see the AFCE broken up in an attempt to balance power. You only gotta win a few games before the rivalries get fired up again. Even the Bills fans were talking smack earlier this year until the wheels came off. Imagine if they pulled Dallas out of the NFCE because it's geographic division should be the NFCS.

You guys crack me up with this "Brady Era" and "Belichick Era" stuff......

Yeah, Brady probably only has a few more years in him.......Bill, perhaps a few years after that......

But what you overlook is that there are two guys that sit in the owner's box every week that hold all of the $$$$ and know how to pull strings.

Robert and Jonathon ain't no dummies, and I can assure you that when "God 1" and "God 2" are no longer, they will have "God 3 and God 4" waiting in the wings.........

Look, I LIVE in the town, and I have seen much more intimately than the vast majority of you what they do and how they do it. You think this casino thing is just about the casino?

Look, they have sunk a LOT of cash into this venture, much more than most of you know. It has been a long term plan to make Foxboro and the surrounding area a "destination" type place........Patriot's Place, Bass Pro Shops, CBS Scene, and all that, but behind the scenes, there is The Comcast Center/Great Woods, the TPC Golf Course near Great Woods that hosts a high profile PGA tourney every year on Labor Day weekend, new shopping areas at Mansfield Crossing and Chestnut Green, the Plainville Race track......and if you don't think they don't somehow in the background have their hands (and cash) in all of that, you are sadly mistaken. And now the casino resort (which won't just be a casino, but a complex with high class hotels, entertainment venues, and shops and restaurants) , which I can assure you that one way or another will almost surely happen, despite the initial protest from the town. And they have a lot more up their sleeve.......

They said MANY years ago when they first bought and rebuilt the stadium that they wanted to make the area a "destination", and all of this has been done and is being done to accomplish that goal, cause:

It may be viewed by some as a pipe dream, but from the very beginning, the plan is that they will convince the NFL to have a Super Bowl in a northern climate open air stadium.....they have admitted that openly years ago.....and their ultimate dream is to host a Super Bowl that the Home Team is a competitor in.........and if there is ANYONE that can pull all that off, it is them. I have seen right here with my own eyes what they have done already, and have no doubt they can accomplish the rest.

So, don't think they are gonna let that slip thru their fingers cause Brady is too old and Bill decides to retire.....;)

Delusional fan^^^^^^^

The salary cap era NFL is just like communism. You're looking at with Libertarian eyes just because they sunk a pile of money into ancillary stuff. ;)

Go figure, the Jets and Giants will have the first crack at home town, cold weather, outdoor SB. I guess we can thank the Gods 1 - 4 for pulling the strings and giving New York the shot.

Delusional, not at all......just passing on what I have seen with my own eyes and heard with my own ears..........this is a small town.....unless you are oblivious or an idiot (or both), you really can't miss this stuff around here.........;)

Frankly, if and when it happens, there is a good chance I will have already moved about 600 miles south.

When Brady and Belicihick are gone, mediocrity will prevail in the AFC east.

SIM - yes the Kafts have resources, but so don't the Yankees, and since all their stars left they don't win every year.

Dynasties don't last forever - that is why they are special

Brady is a HOF QB, they don't grow on trees. Look at the 49's since their decade of dominance - nothing,

Same with Redskins and Cowboys, Bills, Vikings.

When the AFC East was first formed in 1970, the Colts was considered the top team.

Fins & the Pats had good runs, too. ( Div. had 4 SB appearances.)

The '80's saw the Fins, Pats & Bills on top. (Div. had 3 SB appearances.)

The Bills & Pats were on top in the '90's. (Div. had 5 SB appearances.)

The Pats on top in the 2000's with the Colts moving to another division. (Div. had 4 SB appearances.)

Sounds like a good mix thru out the decades.

Every team has had their glory years unless I'm missing one.
