fish won't be on the beaches yet..there still gonna be on the flats , up in the creeks ,backwater bays and such.. black drum will be in the bay in big numbers..

google this tampa bay fishing guide association talk to capt John Gordon on there, he will hook you up with one of there guides.

the maderia beach area is nice ,the boardwalk at John's pass has some excellent seafood. (the friendly fisherman)

they also have a deep sea charter boat there..

you could fish for flounder around sand key park..7' med rod with a 2500 sized reel #15 braid , #20 fluoro leader , red 1/4oz jig head with some 3" gulp shrimp new penny is a good color.

wrong time of year to catch snook on foot in clearwater..you might be able to pick up some reds , trout or flounder @ sand key park like I mentioned ,also check out the belleair beach causeway...at the end of curlew road is the entrance to honeymoon island , you can fish all up and down causeway blvd...2' of #20 fluorocarbon leader tied to your mainline uni/uni , a jighead with gulp shrimp will produce if the fish are there..the little tackle shop (barracuda bob's bait shop) has everything you need to go out there and fish.
