And people are supposed to take these Perry and Gingrich as serious contenders when they cannot muster the organization to get the requisite number of signatures?

Really?

Further, Gingrich's stance now is that the rules (getting signatures) how lame and pathetic is that?

I wonder who was challenging the signatures. If you know history, a famous politician knows a thing or two about getting candidates kicked off the ballot so they could easily win.

What challenges, Eddy? Looks like your"dems are behind everything bad that happens to repubs" paranoia slip is showing.

Total victimhood.

Oh, and by the way, from the National Review on how it really works.

.

A Gingrich campaign official prior to the move by the RPV said the problem is how the rules are set up, arguing that the party is, for apparently the first time, cross-checking the addresses that signature-givers gave against the electronic voter database file for accuracies. A name without a proper address match was tossed, the official said.

“What one needs to ask is 'what percentage of valid, registered voters self-identify a current address that matches voter rolls that the voter might not have updated since 2008”? Are you 100% certain that your address you and all of your neighbors matches current voter rolls? It strikes me that this is not an accurate means to identify registered voters signing for ANY candidate, not just Gingrich,” the official wrote.

The article I read in the Washington comPost the other day, Friday maybe, said that Virginia has one of the more difficult ballots to get your name on.

The 10K signatures have to be collected from each county, the number of sigs from each county determined by population.

It would take time and money to comply, and can't be done at the last second.

The rule is the rule, it isn't new, and should be known to a major player.

If a candidate didn't get it done it is either arrogance or incompetence.

Or both.
