I have an old school walking foot iron base sewing machine......I just hope I don't break anything using it.

Going to see what I come up with.....I was looking to make myself and maybe a friend or two

2- 2 tube bags

and maybe 2 3 tube bags. I need to lighten the load.

THere are other fabrics out there besides Sailcloth. You should buy a cheap heavy weight cloth and make it out of that first. You will learn how too handle the fabric and work out the kinks in you design. Sailcloth is hard too work with. But the most important thing is too use the right thread and stitch tention. Know your machine first. I started designing and constructing my own bags for about 6 years know and i enjoy it. Well good luck

If you have the machine go for it but like any hobby it still will be costly. The shipping adds up quickly and when buying items in small quantities you pay a premium. Fun way to spend a winter, however.
