Anyone Send A Shimano Sahara Back To Shimano For Repair Lately?

My question is this -

If you did send one back did they replace it or repair it?  I called Shimano yesterday and they were very vague about what reels they just flat out replace and which they repair despite me grilling the dude for several minutes.  His bottom line was they judge each reel as it comes in, but this is not completely true because they have also admitted on another occasion that all reels under somewhere around $60-70 retail are cheaper for them just to replace than to even take a look at.  The Sahara is just a bit higher price and mine is around 4yrs old, so I'm wondering the what the likelihood of replacement would be.  Thanks.

BTW- If you have any reel repair experience please check out my Spheros 4000FA repair question thread in the the Maint/Repair Forum.
