Wayne Tj
LX holds 550 yards of 65# solid braid, unless you want to also use the reel for tuna, theres no need to fork the extra money over for the HX. If it were me, spend the extra dough on a 2-speed LX. P.S. I've got both reels. America, the country so great that even its haters refuse to leave. biofatty
I have an LX I use for Casting for sharks.. I have 500Yards of 80LB hollow braid on mine + some mono topshot. The LX is about as big of size I would use without needing a belt. I think it would be more than capable for what you need and not as clumsy of a size. Easy to handle and smooth sailing.. The benefits of the HX vs the LX do not justify the cost in your situation. I have an LX 4.6 Magic cast. Love it.
biofatty
PS, this reel can double as a nice castable Pier reel if you ever needed it.. Just a thought.
mitchman
If you lean towards the LX take a look at the JX in 4.6:1.....its just a narrower, lighter version of the LX.
