Riptide
I wanted to see if Rip would do some light duck hunting now that upland season is over, so after todays trip I took a dead duck we had then suited my little guy up in his new hunting / floatation vest. He was money on water retrieves........until my duck finally got waterlogged and sank He's no Lab or Chessie, but for puddle ducks I think he's gonna do fine Good Luck, Capt. bob_G
Good boy Rippy! I'm already dying now that upland is over. I actually went trout fishing today. Ended up at the Sandwich trout hatchery and got the VIP tour from New Jack. (Thank you Greg, I enjoyed it) The Sultan of Sluggo

bob_G
I think Charlie would retrieve ducks too. It's getting him to sit still in the blind or boat that might be an issue. The Sultan of Sluggo
Riptide
Great day on the water with Capt Curt Jessup and Rip smackin' quackers in Cape Cod Bay. We we did well for the first time out solo going 5 for 6. (2 White Wing Scotter, 1 Surf Scoter, 2 Oldsquaw) We learned allot, were humbled repeatedly, but still managed to have a ton of laughs and a great morning together enjoying a 70 degree December day on the Cape!!!!! Rip managed a couple easy retrieves. He was great in the small boat for his first time. He handled the ducks well, but did struggle in the stiff current. He swam like hell, but didn't make much headway into the current. With the current he flew Maybe he is better suited to lakes and ponds, the ocean was a bit more than ideal for him.
