rio outbound coldwater

Hi guys.

I'm looking for a fly lines for my Lamiglas 9' 6" #7 to use for trout lake and european seabass (spigola) with soft casting and little streamer and flies.

I saw the rio outbound cold water F/I and I noticed that the real weight is oversized: a #5 is 210 gr.

In your opinion can I use this fly lines on my rod?

How about the Tropical F/I?

Thanks

If your rod is rated "properly" as a 7wt the total head weight around 225gr would be good. So 210gr should cast OK but feel slightly light.

If too light you can use polyleaders with OutBound to add weight and you can use them to sink fly deeper. With 10ft polyleader you can improve delicacy what OutBound thick front taper lacks. And polyleader allows also longer casts.

RIO's aqualux would probably be a better choice for what you have in mind if a softer presentation is desired. The outbounds are made more for distance vs presentation.
