Nationalism is dead. Saw one that said obumma. Nationalism is dead. Everyone loves themselves too much to give a crap about anything other than themselves.

And, he is better than 50/50 to get another 4.

sadly I think you are right,

I am tempted to point fingers at the right wing for doing it intentionally.  It seems that their mantra for the past few decades has been to encourage people to have a me, me, me screw everyone else attitude.

the "free market global economy" crap is essentially, "you get stuff cheaper and who cares if the US economy goes down, as long as YOU do ok personally.

I don't get it.

I consider myself an American and am emotionally invested in the COUNTRY and it's Citizens doing well.

I don't think social programs are the path to heightened nationalism either. One can point to the Dems for creating a me, me, me entitlement attitude.

The destruction of nationalism can be attributed to both "types" of people. Saying otherwise is foolish, IMO.

why?

I don't RECEIVE any benefits,

but I am willing to give for needy Americans,

how is that NOT an indication of Nationalism?

I think it's important to educate ALL american children..... again, for the benefit of America,

which is a nationalistic sentiment.

I don't receive any benefits, nor could I afford to help out anyone else. Education is provided for all children. College isn't, nor should it be.

why is it failed?

I think it's very flawed but I'd like your impressions of why it's failed.

I think generational welfare is a very bad thing,

but that doesn't mean all or most social safety nets are a bad thing.

the job market is brutal,

thanks to the unamerican free marketeers who support a economic ideology with near religious like reverence,

an ideology which was guaranteed to have dire consequences for the US.
