The hunger,

disease,

cold,

offset by the determination to do what's right.

is anyone else reminded of the ordeal suffered by the Troops under Washington who stood up to power in the American Revolution?

This isn't a Tea Party on a sunny Summer's day.

this is hardcore.

No, these people are only looking for a bigger handout. Looking for someone else to blame for their own failures. They are afraid to look in the mirror, afraid to confront their own lies.

^^^Pretty much bottom line

I'm sure those loyal to the Crown had the same sort of disparaging comments about the patriots.

I don't blame these kids for being upset.

How much of a debt did WE amass and are handing to them?

How strong is the job market in America compared to what it was when WE came of age?

If I was 22 right now, I'd be pretty pissed too.

I don't think they want a hand out.

I think they want an opportunity,

to get a good job,

to not be saddled with OUR debt,

to not be forced into a choice between no advanced degree and a debt the size of a mortgage.

just out of curiousity,

but if some 22 year old with a degree is protesting, what failures do you think they are looking to blame on someone else.

if a kid works hard in school, gets good grades, goes to college, earns their degree,

they have done the prep work which SHOULD lead to success, and in the USA that existed when WE were their age,

almost guaranteed it.

you are nuts...

since when is "lawlessness" doing the right thing...

they have done the prep work which SHOULD lead to success, and in the USA that existed when WE were their age,

almost guaranteed it.

What planet are you from!

There are no gurantees. Never were!

you don't have success handed to you. This is your stupid class warfare argument.

Do you speak this tripe to children?

"Sorry Son, when I was your age it was Guaranteed..."

My old man would have kicked my ass if I ever got squishy in the face of adversity... or worse expected an "automatic"...

See this is the benefit of being an immigrant's son. You are constantly reminded that everything in front of you is fleeting.

You work for it. Constantly... or you win the Lottery...

Thanks God my Parent's didn't think like this.

You know - the more people that swallow this mantra, I see opportunity for a limited few that will rise above the stupor.

Keep preaching this **** - the world needs ditchdiggers...

My kid finished fourth in his highschool class,

entered college with a boatload of credits under his belt,

is working long hours at school on his classwork,

is in an honors program that requires a 3.5 to stay in.

Don't PRESUME to know anything about the message I gave him.

The message I gave him is of reality, of how bleak the future looks and his NEED to work damn hard because of the competition for the jobs that he will be facing.

that's the message I give him.

The message I give people MY age is that we took a pretty good thing and screwed it up,

and what we are handing off to our kids is no where NEAR as good as what we were given.

when I graduated college the job market sucked

it was one of the hardest recessions post WWII

I recall going in interviews for receptionist jobs because that was all that was out there.

I landed a back office job in a refurbished warehouse on the west side for just barely above minimum wage.

the only thing that was almost guaranteed, was that me and my fellow graduates were facing a long hot summer of humiliation begging for any type of entry level job.

Inflation had blown through double digits,

the social security was bankrupt

we just restarted the regsitration for the draft

we were at the mercy of the arabs

and Japan was taking over our manufacturing industries

we didn't march in protest, we march into job placement firms and HR departments all over the city and filled out applicaption after application.

Terrorism is "doing what's right"?

Stealing from the labors of others is not altruistic. Demanding others pay your school tab is greedy, much more greedy than earning a bonus as stipulated in a contract.

I don't think they want a hand out.

I think they want an opportunity,

They're not likely to find it by living in their own filth. inconveniencing the hell out of people who can give them that "opportunity" , and destroying the livlihoods of decent people who have worked hard to get where they are. To compare these morons to patriots is just beyond belief. This mob of freeloading deadbeats is just another ramification of Bo's class warfare crap.......blame those who have made it because you're too freakin' stupid to succeed!

what year was that NSMike?

there have always been little dips in the market,

might be tough for a year or three, but then we got past it.

The fundamentals of our economy are FAR worse than at any point in my lifetime,

and that speaks to long term vialbility and not a little downturn.

Loyalists felt the same way,

Look at all that England does for us.  they should be grateful.
