Boat stays in driveway -- It has been fully winterized - Question is with motor down will the snow etc hurt the lower unit -- should I wrap the lower unit in plastic and seal or just showel around it? Or it is fine -- Just wondering it is a brand new motor..

As long as the motor is vertical, it's fine. Wrapping sometimes traps moisture doing more harm in my experience. Had the boat in the back yard in 4 foot drifts for over 20 years, never a problem.

Good luck with the new motor!

Being how its new why not cover it?? Ive used a chair cover I got at job lot similar to a grill cover.

covers the exposed motor and leaves the parts nearest the boat open Keeps snow and crap off without trapping moisture.

Hope to see it in the spring!
