Behemoth 23.65-Pound Blackfish Poised to Dislodge 15-Year-Old CT State Record

For those who haven't yet heard (or seen), here's 83-year-old Ken Owens, whose mind-boggling 33-inch, 23.65-pound (girth: 24 inches) Togzilla will likely shatter the 15-year-old Connecticut state record (21.5 pounds) by a two-plus-pound margin. Owens caught the behemoth blackfish on Friday, October 28 while soaking a green crab in 23 feet of water just off Twotree Island, a rocky outcropping that lies a shade west and north of inner Bartletts Reef off Waterford, CT.

Myerson's fish, then this,Been quite a year in CT, the breeding protections on the tog are starting to pay off. Unprecedented Albie season as well here. The only thing missing was the bluefish

How old do you think a tog of that size is? I've read that they have slow growth rates. Anyone have an idea?

Roughly 28 years old going by a chart I saw.....Another chart has it as almost 45....Lets just say .....Its old!
