When your knee gets better let me know if you want to try it out. I haven't had a chance to launch it yet, but my heading to mv next week for 10 days. She will be good and broken in when I get back. :)

Will do Mike. Hope you slay them up there. Cant wait to check out your reports on the other site.

Slightly off topic, but can anyone tell me the usable recessed measurement of the cargo area behind the seat?  I would like to make sure I get the right size cooler that has the footprint that will maximize the usage of the recessed space in the cargo area.  I know it is slightly irregular shaped, but please try to give me a surface area close to a shape of a rectangle. THANKS, Gerald.

Update: I've had a Pro Angler for about a month and just spent the past two weeks on Martha's Vineyard with it. It does weigh a lot and is very big. That being said I unloaded it two or three times a day by myself on top of my suburban without any problems. My rack consists of a pair of thule saddles up front, and yakima hulley rollers and a showboat system in the rear. The showboat made this much easier to load and unload. I simply picked up the front end and placed it on the showboat roller and then picked up the rear and slid it on top. I'm a bigger guy (6'2") so that helped pushing it forward. The KFS cart with the large rolleez wheels made it pretty easy to move around once on the ground. I didn't move it more that a few hundred feet, but i didn't have any problem getting it across the sand. Anyone who is considering one shouldn't automatically rule it out because of the size. I had reservations before I bought it and went in the purchase thinking a trailer would probably be in my future, but after some use I don't think a trailer is going to be a necessity for my situation.

On the water I was extremely happy with it. I don't feel that I lost much in terms of speed compared to my revo. I didn't have it out in anything crazy, but in 2 foot slop I was completely comfortable. Being able to stand and look for ablies was a nice advantage. I don't carry a ton of stuff, but the center hatch storage is great. Very nice to have everything within easy reach including an extra rod in the holder out of the way below the gunwales. It I didn't flip it while I was there, but did do some tests in my pool ahead of time. It was easy enough to upright in the pool and I felt it was easier to re-enter from the back.

I'm also considering getting a PA, after 8 hours of fishing off a prowler 15, my leg went numb and it took a day for the feeling to come back. Just gotta figure out a way to hide the real price from the other half.

Has anyone ever use their PA in freshwater or in skinny water where the Mirage drive was of no use and you had to paddle? I have the Outback, launched it in a local river with the Mirage drive in, most of the river was too low to use the drive and I had to paddle, paddling an Outback is like paddling a bathtub. I'm looking to make a change, sell my Outback and get into something with more room, can paddle easy in skinny waters and able to stand in for fly fishing. recommendations welcome! I'm not rushing into this move. I have a Tacoma pick up with a cap and Hullivator system, I may have access to a trailer if needed, my bad back doesn't help matters. Thank you!

Paco

I was at JBAY this year and ran aground on a sand bar and had to paddle my PA. If you think an Outback is a bathtub then do not get a PA. It does not paddle well at all but it can be done you just will not move fast. Have you tried a flutter kick when in shallow water (less than 12"). I have used that method a lot of times when I am out in marshes and skinny water. Again you will not move fast but you will move. You can also stand up and pole the PA through the shallows. Just remember to lift the rudder.

However if you want a lot of room then a PA is the ticket. It is one comfortable ride. I have even had a couple of nice naps in the local marsh in her. Use a trailer for getting her from one place to another, she is one heavy boat.

I was there also, but did not participate this year. thank you for your help, I tried the flutter kick but then I have the sailing rudder and that was dragging and getting all hung up. I'm going to research this further.
